Bylaws Committee:The responsibilities of this committee are to review ANA-Ohio Bylaws every two years, for consistency with ANA-Ohio practices and governance trends; report findings of such review to the Board and to the membership at the ANA-Ohio Annual Meeting following the review; propose and or prepare submitted amendments to ANA-Ohio Bylaws that shall be reported to the Board and to the membership at the ANA-Ohio Annual Meeting; and to interpret ANA-Ohio Bylaws when questions of adherence to the Bylaws arise as a result of development and execution of policies and procedures within ANA-Ohio. | Continuing Education Committee:This committee is responsible for guiding the development, implementation, evaluation, and analysis of continuing education activities that support the professional development of members and other interested healthcare providers throughout the state of Ohio. The committee and the association’s Accredited Provider Program Director are responsible for ensuring that all nursing continuing professional development programs provided meet ANCC’s national accreditation criteria. This committee contributes to the development of annual goals and outcome measures that support our association’s dedication to nursing continuing professional development. |
Equity, Diversity & Inclusion CommitteeThis committee is charged with creating position statements on racial, cultural and health disparities in nursing. The committee also reviews evidence of societal structures that lead to health disparities based on race, culture, and social determinants of health (SDOH). The committee will propose to the Board intentional actions to reduce/eliminate structural racism and discrimination and increase equity within the nursing profession, promote equity, diversity, and inclusion within ANA-Ohio; and will assess EDI within the organizational structure and membership. | Finance Committee:This committee is charged with the preparation and recommendation of an annual budget for the Board to review, revise and adopt as needed. This committee also advises and reports to the Board on the receipt of revenues and expenditures of funds, and investment policies and strategies. Committee also reviews tax filings and other documents related to ANA-Ohio’s IRS tax exempt status. |
Public policy committee
The responsibilities of this committee include the monitoring of public policy issues that impact nursing in Ohio and nationally; global health and policy trends; and keeping the Board and association members informed to support opportunities for advocacy. |
