Presenter: Alexandria (Alex) Jones, MS, RN, CPH

This session will shed light on the racial disparities in infant and maternal mortality, the most sensitive health indicator, with a focus on Ohio and Franklin County. We will explore the historical discrimination faced by Black birthing individuals and people of color and review the latest state and local data. The presentation will outline plans, activities, and strategies aimed at addressing these disparities. Importantly, we will discuss the vital role of nurses and how they can contribute to reducing racial inequities in maternal and infant health outcomes.
